Poseidon
(Neptune) – God of Earthquakes
A 7.9 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast
of western Indonesia, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reports. There have been
no immediate reports of damage. The USGS said the earthquake struck at 19:49
local time (12:49 GMT). It said the epicentre was 808km (502 miles) south-west
of the city of Padang, and 10km deep. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35704845
Earthquakes are
found to be associated with eclipses and with important planetary conjunctions
and oppositions. An eclipse is always liable to cause seismic disturbances
especially if it falls very close to the line of the horizon or of the
meridian. [1].
A chart for
the upcoming lunar eclipse drawn for the quake epicenter [4s55; 94e16] has the
luminaries placed on the horizon axis fulfilling the condition mentioned above.
If the
eclipse serves as the “hour hand” of the cosmic clock, here today’s last
quarter Moon chart serves as the “minute hand”. Notice that the Moon [11sa] is
on the MC conjunct the star Antares [10sa] while the Sun is conjunct Neptune
[9pi] on the Ascendant. Diana Rosenberg
links both these areas with “earthquakes” among other things. And in addition
let us remember that Neptune or Poseidon was in Greek mythology connected with
earthquakes [2].
Finally, a
chart for the actual event serves as the “second hand” of the clock. Here the
star Benetnash is just rising. Of this star Elsbeth Ebertin writes:
In an important
position in a mundane map, Benetnash will claim human lives in calamities such
as mine accidents, collapse of houses and bridges, mountain slides, earth
tremors and catastrophes caused by weather. [Fixed Stars and Their
Interpretation, Elsbeth Ebertin, 1928, no.46, p.57, under the name Benetnash]
