Vestal Virgins
tending the sacred flame

Eclipses often carry with them a deep message which is delivered in select places. Shown here
is the chart for the Total Lunar Eclipse of September 28, 2015 drawn for
London. The eclipse Moon is conjunct the asteroid Vesta with both in hard aspect
to the MC. The Roman goddess Vesta was
the goddess of the sacrificial fire. The mythology of Vesta is linked to the
six Vestal Virgins who lived in the temple to maintain the “eternal flame”. The
asteroid Vesta in delineation brings experiences of “sacrifice of the self,”
denial of personality or sexual desires and fulfillment of the self… for a
greater goal. It brings a capacity to be pure within self at all levels for the
expression of one’s highest potential and true Essence.
The MC is
conjunct the stars of the Indian lunar mansion Bharani [1]. Bharani is the
celestial yoni (female reproductive organ).
It is also called the “clay pot” or womb that contains Shakti, the divine
feminine creative power.
On the
Ascendant is a Venus-Mars conjunction as apex of a T-square with Admetus and
Saturn once again resonating with the theme of denial of sexuality.
Progressing the eclipse chart to April 18,
the date of the news, aligns the T once again with the progressed angles
thereby triggering the news.
The lesson here is that what appears to be a denial or a tragedy at the lower level is actually an opportunity for spiritual growth.
