At least 80 persons were killed and over 350
injured after a fire broke out at the Paravur Puttingal Devi temple around 3:30
a.m on Sunday. The fireworks ceremony was held as part of the annual festival
of the temple, near Kollam. Over 100 victims are admitted to the district
hospital in Kollam. Many of the injured died before they could be reach a
hospital. Victims are also admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College
Hospital and at various private hospitals in Kollam. The explosion was caused
when the storehouse of the fireworks materials caught fire. In the impact of
the explosion the office building of the Travancore Devaswom Board near the
storehouse was blown off. April 10. http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/kerala/kerala-paravur-temple-fire/article8457603.ece
The massive
explosion at the temple took place at the Crescent Moon of April 10. A chart
for the phase at Kollam (Quilon) has the Moon on the descendant forming a Grand
Cross with Mars-Saturn-Jupiter-Neptune. It is common knowledge that Mars-Saturn
is a destructive accident prone combination. Moreover its conjunction in
Sagittarius, the sign associated with religion, obviously links it to a
religious place like a temple here. But
more interesting is the position of Jupiter, again associated with religion and
temples, on the MC conjunct the star Mizar [1][2][3] . Zeta (ΞΆ) Ursa Major, Mizar, is a
double star, possibly binary, brilliant white and pale emerald on the Tail of
the Great Bear. The following extracts from Ebertin and Nick Fiorenza explain
the nature of this star.
Supposedly, Mizar
portends a Mars nature. The reputation of Mizar, if it is in maximal position
in a mundane map, is that of being connected with fires of a catastrophic
extent and mass calamities. [Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation, Elsbeth
Ebertin, 1928, p.55.]
Mizar of the Great
Bear, Zeta Ursa Major, is the overseeing and predominant star of this area of
the zodiak. Mizar articulates raw fiery energy that must express one way or
another. Mizar must have a creative outlet, but for its proper expression, we
must apply it with creative vision. Mizar brings attention to use of our creative
energies; creative and destructive tendencies, and the fear to create lest it
may result in destruction. Here we learn the nature of such volatile forces.
Mizar, with averted alignments is also known for catastrophic fires or
massacres. Mizar can however express quite artistically--just as gunpowder can
express as beautiful fireworks or devastating explosion.
A chart drawn
for the reported time of the explosion (3:30 am) has Mars-Saturn on the MC as
part of the T-square with Jupiter-Neptune confirming the role of this
combination in the accident.
But as we
have seen so often before, there can be more than one cause for an event. In
this case we will look at a slightly more distant cause. Let us go back to the
solar eclipse chart for September 13 at Kollam (Quilon). The eclipse is conjunct the MC and the “explosive”
star Mizar. Nick Fiorenza explains that this is an area where political-religious
factions have been acting as manipulating and controlling godheads. They have
been perpetuating a dogmatic structure that keeps individuals from becoming
self-responsible, evolving into their own self-mastery. Here self-proclaimed
saviors of the world try to amass their blind followers for their own interest
in maintaining a position of power and wealth. Eclipse are about relinquishing
the past and engaging in a new path. Here this would mean that the blind
followers must learn discrimination and become self-responsible instead of
following religious or political leaders.
Having
understood the essential principle behind the eclipse, all that remains is to
progress the chart to April 10. When we do that we find the Uranus-Pluto square
on the angles with Uranus on the MC in
aspect to the eclipse. This combination
in its physical manifestation is “explosive
energy” . But on a deeper level it is a freeing and opening force, a pattern
disrupter and deprogrammer supporting the expression of our uniqueness and
originality and thereby freeing us from conventions and the establishment. In
other words, this energy was not meant to be destructive. It is only when we
ignore or avoid its higher expression that it causes accidents like the one at
the temple today.
