Ortho, a top US manufacturer of lawn and garden pesticides, will phase out products containing the neonicotinoid class of chemicals, the use of which has been linked to a massive decline in honeybee population. Ortho, a division of Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, announced Tuesday that it will cease the use of neonicotinoid ("neonic") ingredients imidacloprid, clothianidin and dinotefuran by 2017, while phasing out neonics in eight products that are used to kill garden pests by the year 2021.

Tim Martin, Ortho's vice president and general manager, said the company will also begin a "multi-year partnership" with pollinator advocacy organizations to "to promote pollinator habitat" and "homeowner education" initiatives to encourage "responsible use of pesticides where pollinators can be found." Cardinal ingresses have been used to predict public events at least since the time of Ptolemy. With the Sun having recently entered Aries, we look at the chart for the ingress drawn for Marysville, Ohio where Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, is headquartered.  Notice the Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune T-square straddling the meridian.  Here Saturn [16sa] is conjunct  V801 Arae [16sa], in the Altar’s flame.  The mythology of the Altar is linked closely to the Centaur.

Symbolically, the Centaur, a man-beast combination,  illustrates the conflict between man’s lower animal nature merged with his higher nature of human virtue and judgement. In star lore, the Centaur is shown carrying the impaled Wolf,  a symbol of evil and gluttony, to the Altar for sacrifice. An altar as a raised place of sacrifice embodies the act of moving from darkness to light; the sacrifice on the altar restores the original unity.

If we now progress, the ingress chart to April 12 when Tim Martin, Ortho's vice president, made the announcement, we notice that the progressed Ascendant conjoins Saturn triggering the story of the Altar. In other words, this is exactly when the company decides to give up its narrow aim of profits for a greater cause – the protection of bees.

Now where do the bees come in here? Notice that the Ascendant of the ingress chart [27sc] is conjunct the star delta Musca [26sc]. The constellation was originally called Apis – the bee [1].
