Colombia Farc: Ceasefire signed to end five decades of war

The Colombian government and the Farc rebels have signed a historic ceasefire deal, bringing them closer to ending more than five decades of conflict. The announcement is seen as one of the last steps before a full peace deal is signed, which is expected within weeks. Colombia's president and the Farc leader shook hands in celebration. The longest-running insurgency in the Western Hemisphere has killed an estimated 220,000 people and displaced almost seven million. The ceasefire deal was signed in Havana, Cuba just a few days after the Sun’s entry into Cancer. A chart for the ingress at Havana is shown here. Notice that it carries a powerful Grand Cross on the angles. Contained in the Cross is the Jupiter-Saturn square. This last quarter Jupiter-Saturn square impels movement and expansion away from societal models, sociopolitical structures, and constructs in our personal lives that have now become limiting and restricting to new growth.

On the IC with Neptune is Achernar, alpha Eridanus and Ankaa, alpha Phoenix. Aratus called Eridanus, “The River of Many Tears” and Diana Rosenberg links it to “history and paradigm altering events”. This was the Moon and South Node when an Egypt-Israel Peace Accord was signed in Washington, 1979; Jupiter at the Belfast Irish Peace Accord of 1998 and the international appeal to “Pray for Peace” in 1986; the South Node when John F. Kennedy first proposed the Peace Corps in 1960.

Next we look at the chart for the Full Moon of June 20 at Bogota, the capital of Columbia. Here we find Full Moon placed very significantly on the horizon axis. On the Ascendant with the Sun and Venus are the stars of Columba, the peace loving dove.With Columba there are hawk and dove issues – whether to fight or back down and make peace and “turn swords into ploughshares”. For this area, Morse notes “the ability to negotiate a peaceful settlement to disputes”.
