Cooper, the former Labour Cabinet minister, has suggested that Boris Johnson
has been sent to the Foreign Office so that Theresa May will have “someone to
blame” if the Brexit negotiations hit the rocks. That is one explanation for
the new Prime Minister’s decision to hand this sensitive job to such an unsafe
choice.
Of
Johnson’s many indiscretions, the worst arguably, was deliberate and
gratuitous. When The Spectator ran a competition inviting readers to write
poems insulting Turkey’s President Recip Erdogan, the then Mayor of London
could not resist submitting a contribution which included a made up word
beginning with ‘w’ that rhymed with the Turkish capital, Ankara.
And
official reaction from the USA was restrained, considering that Johnson has in
the past described Barack Obama as ‘half Kenyan’, Hillary Clinton as having “a
steely blue stare, like a sadistic nurse in a mental hospital”, Donald Trump of
showing “stupifying ignorance", and George W. Bush as “a cross-eyed Texan
warmonger, unelected, inarticulate, who epitomizes the arrogance of American

Johnson is a controversial figure in British politics and
journalism. He has been described as
"the most unconventional, yet compelling politician of the post-Blair
era" capable of "polarising
opinions to the extreme". Critics view him as "variously evil, a
clown, a racist and a bigot".

The second thing to note is his Mars at the apex of a

In summary, therefore, even though his critics may find him
disgusting this would appear to describe his behavior perfectly. After all this
is what he was here to do and we must admit that he is doing it very well!
