Those who believe that
the world of being is governed by luck or chance and that it depends on material
causes are far removed from the divine and from the notion of the One.
-Plotinus, Ennead VI.9
To the magus, there
exists no accidental happening…everything is established solidly by that law
which the wise man discerns in happenings that appear accidental to the
profane.
-Kurt Seligmann

In this post we will see how significant events often occur
when transits of faster moving planets trigger important long term
configurations. On August 6-7 transit Mercury was forming a T with the
Saturn-Neptune square. A chart drawn for the Mercury-Saturn square at Kansas
City has the T straddling the horizon axis giving it added importance for the
place. The presence of Mars on the IC with Saturn brings the danger of accidents
while Neptune points to a water related incident. Mars [1sa] is conjunct the
star Kornephoros, beta Herculis. Hercules provides courage, energy, physicality
and a daring, all-or-nothing spirit and needs expression often in the form of
sports. A Latin epithet for Hercules was saltator,
“leaper”, but some lacking a sense of moderation often risk their lives in
adventure sports [1]. Moreover, Neptune is conjunct stars of Aquarius in the
water pouring from the Urn of the Water Carrier – a perfect image of the Schlitterbahn Water Park slide.
Some other elements of the chart add further details. The Pluto-Kronos-Hades
opposition, anchored to the T-square, has Pluto in the 5th house
which rules both children and amusement parks [2]. Here Kronos [10cn] is
conjunct the asteroid Orpheus [15cn] related to “death” Since the TNP Kronos rules leaders in
government, we are witnessing the death of a Senator’s child in an amusement
park.
