Michael
Phelps has broken a 2,000-year-old Olympic record by surpassing the 12
individual titles won by Leonidas of Rhodes. Who was this athlete whose record
has taken two millennia to beat, asks Jon Kelly? August 12; http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-37033910
This extraordinary news comes just as Saturn stations to go
direct conjunct Mars on the IC at Rio.
Mars-Saturn contacts show situations where the capacity for strength,
endurance and stamina are tested and stretched – sometimes to near breaking
point [1].
Also conjunct the IC [8sa] is the star epsilon Herculis
[8sa] – in the constellation of the strong man Hercules often linked to sports champions.
The IC or fourth house cusp refers to 'roots', tradition and history [2].
Saturn, which also rules tradition, is here in hard aspect to Uranus. This
implies a break from tradition – an ancient record is broken!
But how does Leonidas of Rhodes figure here? The upcoming
conjunction of Mars-Saturn on August 24 takes place very significantly on the
Ascendant at Rhodes suggesting that the news may link to a sports champion from
that place.
