When
National Hunt jockey Declan Murphy suffered a disastrous fall at Haydock Park
in 1994, after winning all the major races that season, the Racing Post
published his obituary. But as he explains here, a furious determination got
him back in the saddle. April 6 http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-39507939
The powerful solar eclipse of February 26 continues to
create events in its wake which contain the essence of its message. At Haydock
Park, the eclipse fell in the 8th house making hard aspects to the
Jupiter-Mars-Uranus-Pluto T-square straddling the meridian.
The eighth house generally rules all matters relating to
death, decay, fear, anxiety and loss. Transits through this house often show a
need to consolidate and accept the loss of elements of life that are no longer
fruitful or have served their purpose. Traditional astrology relates the eighth
house to crisis, hidden matters, anguish of mind, poison and deadly fears; yet
psychological astrology often refers to it as a house of inner transformation
and growth [1].
Ebertin’s key phrases for Mars-Uranus-Pluto are “injury,
accident”. On the MC with Mars and
Uranus are the asteroids Sisyphus and Phaethon. Martha Wescott [2] gives us the
following definitions:
SISYPHUS: Starting over;
the “uphill climb;” feeling like you're runnin' against the wind! It’s having
to “go back to the beginning;” getting the rug pulled out from under you just
as you thought you were getting somewhere; dogged rejection of defeat.
PHAETHON: Instances
that involve cars, transport, driving; other forms of recklessness—feeling out
of control—as though you’ve taken on more than you can handle; having trouble
keeping to the middle of the road!
Regular readers will know that eclipses are active on the
days progressed angles move over them. On April 6, the date of the news, the
progressed Descendant conjoins the eclipse degree thereby triggering it.
But now here is the real surprise. The Sabian symbol of the
eclipse degree[3] is:
8-9 deg Pisces: A Jockey Spurs His Horse, Intent On Outdistancing His
Rivals.
So what is the eclipse really saying here? It is suggesting
that even after a near death experience because one was reckless one can try again
and redo things after the inner transformation and growth that has occurred
since.
