Uranus-Pluto: Attacks on Christians in Egypt

Rattling a country already wrestling with a faltering economy and deepening political malaise, two suicide bombings that killed 44 people at Coptic churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday raised the specter of increased sectarian bloodshed led by Islamic State militants. The attacks constituted one of the deadliest days of violence against Christians in Egypt in decades and presented a challenge to the authority of the country’s leader, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who promptly declared a three-month state of emergency. The square between  Uranus, and Pluto remains our biggest astrological influence in this decade.  From previous post  readers will be aware that its energies are discharged rapidly in violent events when mundane charts bring the square to the angles. Jupiter in the T-square brings in the issue of violence connected to religion or belief systems.

As in an orchestra, symphonic band or other musical ensemble all the members play in complete harmony with what the conductor wants. So too the planets seem to work in perfect unison  to produce events on earth that a Great Conductor appears to want. We present charts for three important mundane events at Tanta, Egypt,  all of which seem to point to the tragic event.

The first chart is the Capricorn Ingress chart. Notice the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T- square on the angles triggered on April 9 as the Sun moved over Uranus on the Ascendant.

The second chart is for the current Moon phase – the Gibbous Moon of April 7.  Once again, we have the same square straddling the horizon.

The third chart is for Mercury station retrograde on April 10, just a few hours after the incident. Here too the same T-square straddles the horizon with transit Sun also triggering it.

The interesting connection that is relevant here are the stars opposite the apex Pluto, at what is commonly known as the “reaction point” of a T-square. These are stars of the Twins, Castor and Pollux. The Twins are siblings who are often at loggerheads so  that issues of hatred, intolerance and racial bigotry are major concerns under the Twins (notice Castor’s bow and arrows and Pollux’s club). The Twins represent the brotherhood-sisterhood of all humankind, their Alpha star marks the struggles between the polarities of cold hatred and intolerance vs  crusades for human rights.  When the former dominates there are persecutions, massacres  and similar events.
