Saudi
Arabia’s King Salman opened his historic four-day visit to Moscow by signalling
a new era of cooperation with Russia, but demanding that Iran, an ally of the
Kremlin, end its “interference” in Middle East politics. King Salman called for
any peace settlement in Syria to ensure that the country remained integrated,
but he did not repeat the longstanding, and now shelved, Saudi call for the
Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, to stand aside. The visit to the Russian
president, Vladimir Putin, on Thursday is the first by a ruling Saudi monarch
to Moscow and is widely seen as a potential turning point in Middle East
politics, and even the conduct of world oil markets. Oct 5. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/05/saudi-russia-visit-putin-oil-middle-east
In his monthly blogpost on the August 21 solar eclipse entitled
Path
of the Lion Total Solar Eclipse, Nick Fiorenza wrote:
Solar eclipses offer
opportunity to redefine concepts of self and the roles we play in the world, or
how we articulate ourselves in life, our persona. They are about shifting
octaves in the nature of our self-perception and self-expression. They bring
attention to what is important to us personally and subsequently to the
decisions we make in our lives. They can invite a new beginning in life or
impel a new way of participating in life.
The August 21, 2017
New Moon produced a Total Solar Eclipse. This is a North Node eclipse occurring
under the auspices of the Head of the Lion. There are several stars formulating our eclipse
energetic. The eclipse itself conjoins Adhafera, Al Jabhah, Algieba and
Regulus, all of Leo. The North Lunar Node at the Leo cusp lies a few degrees
early in the ecliptic and sets the directive for the eclipse. The North Node is
the point of determination and accomplishment. It conjoins Subra, the paw of
the Lion and Al Sumat (Alpha) Beta, and Gamma Pyxidis of Argo Navis.
The stars expressing
through this few degree area of the zodiak set the tone of this eclipse and for
this lunar cycle. They are of prominence, eminence, nobility, royalty,
pride, courage, pioneering pursuits, self-reliance, independence, and
influential leadership. They are those of visionaries, explorers, and
adventurers, those with little interest or contentment to fit into the status
quo and who seek to go beyond the norm in accomplishment. These are people who
are undaunted in the face of perilous explorations and are proud to demonstrate
it. They are willing to leave the comfort of mass-consensus, are
self-reliant, self-confident and determined to break trail into unexplored
territory. They seek a better way to live and seek to discover new
possibilities waiting to be realized.
This Total Eclipse
occurs not only in the Sun's home sign, making its influence especially strong,
imparting strength and confidence, but it also imbues and radiates the
energetics of exceptionally significant stars. It impels us to live in the
confidence and nobleness of the Lion, to live true to our soul's promise, to
break trail into new vistas of consciousness and human experience, and to
visualize and coalesce a new reality for our lives. http://www.lunarplanner.com/LPArchive_lunar_months.html
A chart for the
eclipse at Moscow has Pluto on the MC in hard aspect to the eclipse and the TNP
Admetus. Martha Wescott delineates Admetus-Pluto
as below:
Admetus-Pluto: to have situations that have been endured for
a long time begin to surface – problems that have been on simmer break into a
full rolling boil; to deal with pain,
resentment and emotions that have been suppressed; to come to recognize what
can no longer be endured – and to deal with the accrued consequences of having
pushed the self too far; having delayed elimination of intolerable problems,
one faces confrontation (with self/others) and experiences a need for return to
integrity – a need to know where one stands (and then to decide if one is
willing to stand there!)
The relevance of the foregoing in the context of the Saudi
King’s visit to Moscow is easy to understand. For decades, the story of Saudi
Arabia recycling petrodollars has been well known. The essence of the deal was that the U.S.
would agree to military sales and defense of Saudi Arabia in return for all oil
trade being denominated in U.S. dollars. The commitment to the decades-old
policy of “interdependence” between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, which arose from
the petrodollar deal and ultimately bound together two nations that share few
common values, is showing signs of fraying.
The Sabian symbol of Pluto on the MC [17cp11] elegantly
symbolizes the nature of the US-Saudi relationship.
Phase 288 (Capricorn
18): The Union Jack flag flies from a British warship.
Keynote: The
protection afforded to individuals and groups by powerful institutions in
charge of maintaining order. Power is required to maintain social order and
relatively peaceful interpersonal as well as international relationships. Alas,
this power can easily be misused under the pretext of preserving “law and order”.
This symbol, therefore, brings us a realization of the ambivalence of political
power, its value and its danger. Dane Rudhyar
With this Sabian, doesn’t the analysis begin to make sense?
The Saudi’s had compromised themselves by getting into the petrodollar deal
with the US. Now the eclipse is forcing them to return to integrity.
But how can we be sure that it is indeed this eclipse that
is playing itself out during the Saudi King’s visit to Moscow. Well, all we
need to do is progress the eclipse chart to October 5, the date of the news.
When we do this we find that the Pluto-Admetus-Eclipse configuration is
triggered by the progressed descendant (horizon axis) on this date confirming
our analysis. Also notice that Pluto is opposite the TNPs Kronos-Hades. The TNP
Kronos, among other things, refers to authority figures like the Saudi King and
Hades is about facing difficult circumstances, a decline or even a humiliation.
Pluto in the mix brings the element of pressure.
