Zimbabwe's
military has placed President Robert Mugabe under house arrest in the capital
Harare, South African President Jacob Zuma says. Mr Mugabe told Mr Zuma in a
phone call that he was fine, the South African leader's office said. Troops are
patrolling the capital, Harare, after they seized state TV and said they were
targeting "criminals". Heavy gun and artillery fire could be heard in

Yesterday's
coup in Zimbabwe is of global interest. The country is one of the few that have
long resisted the colonial "western" attempts to control its mineral
and agricultural riches. Such coups are often driven by the CIA or other
"services". But there is no evidence yet that this is the case here.
Local rivalry is for now the more plausible explanation. Since
1980, when Zimbabwe gained independence from Britain, the country is ruled by
Robert Mugabe. He has run an anti-colonial and socialist policy. Unfortunately
his economic policies, together with "western" sanctions and currency

a square to radix Pluto so that the upcoming Mars transit to Pluto (exact
Nov.19) is triggering the upheaval with the military also involved.
According to reports at 4am this morning (Nov.15) Major-General
Sibusiso Moyo appeared on TV and announced that the military has taken control. A chart for the
announcement has the transit Moon conjunct Mars and TNP Zeus (military) on the
eastern horizon completing a T-square with Uranus-Pluto aligned with the
meridian. This confirms the role of Mars as the trigger for the takeover.
Mugabe is a respected figure in Zimbabwe. It appears that
the military is trying to stop Grace Mugabe who is perceived as corrupt from
taking over. The assumption is the military will keep Robert Mugabe safe and purge
those around him. The eventual aim is to bring back ex-VP Emmerson Mnangagwa
from South Africa.
In mundane astrology, cardinal ingresses of the Sun are
considered extremely important. Since we are in the Libra quarter, shown below
is the Libra ingress chart progressed to November 14, the date of the
coup. Notice the perfect alignment of
the progressed meridian with the Jupiter-Uranus opposition – a combination that
is normally interpreted as a revolution that leads to reform.
