North
and South Korea are in talks to announce a permanent end to the officially
declared military conflict between the two countries, daily newspaper Munhwa
Ilbo reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed South Korean official. Ahead of a
summit next week (April, 27) between
North Korean premier Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in,
lawmakers from the neighboring states were thought to be negotiating the
details of a joint statement that could outline an end to the confrontation.
Pyongyang and Seoul have technically been at war since the
1950-1953 Korean conflict ended with a truce — and not a peace treaty. The Armistice
Agreement was signed at 10:00 hrs on the
27th day of July 1953 at Panmunjom, Korea. Very appropriately, Venus, the planet of peace, and the Greater
Benefic Jupiter are conjoined on the MC in harmonious aspects to Saturn and Pluto. Moreover, Venus is conjunct the star
Phact, alpha Columba of the peace loving dove.
For the current
period, the Primary (Van Damm) direction of the Armistice chart has Pluto conjunct
Saturn. In her book Saturn – A new look
at an old devil, Liz Greene describes how Pluto works on Saturn through a
beautiful analogy.
Saturn is the
necessary scaffolding around the building of the self while this building is in
construction. The scaffolding may range from the unconscious defence mechanisms
which stem from fear to the discriminating use of silence and privacy. Only
when the inner integration has occurred can the scaffolding be removed.
Pluto to Saturn is therefore the stage of dealing with
hidden or self-destructive weaknesses or fears.
Transit Pluto (21cp) [ now squaring radix Saturn (21li) natally sextile]
is about to station retrograde on April 22 and then joined by transit Mars on
April 27, on the very day of the meeting between the leaders.
Finally, let us look at the stars that conjoin radix Saturn
